Location

The village of Kompitsi is located a few kilometers west of the city of Corfu, on the top of a range of hills with a wonderful view. The most significant sight of this village is the mansion of the Kompitsi family, nobles of the 18th century from which the village got its name. This “Palace,” which is today a private residence, has a simple but elegant architecture that refers to a renaissance monastery with arches around its large internal yard. In the northern side of the mansion stands the church of Agioi Apostoloi, with its tall bell-tower which resembles the one of Agios Spyridoans in the Old City.

Another significant sight in Kompitsi is the impressive, restored, Venetian fountain with monumental character and very interesting baroque architecture, which supplied the village with water in the past.

Kompitsi, with its approximately 750 residents, offers a panoramic view of the northern, mountainous Corfu, Pelekas, and the Lagoon of Chalikiopoulos, as well as the mountain of Agioi Deka. The village’s natural environment boasts rich flora, and just outside the village is situated a beautiful forest with pine and chestnut trees, ideal for wandering on foot or by bicycle amongst the lush vegetation and wildflowers.

Don’t forget to visit the Cultural Center in Kompitsi, where you can see a rare collection of about 3,000 miniature cars. Just a little further, you can enjoy a coffee in a traditional coffee shop.

This villa is conveniently located to allow you to explore different parts of the island every day, and Corfu Town is easily accessible, with its old town and center only 7 km away.
