Accessing Corfu is possible through various modes of transportation. Visitors can opt to fly, drive, take a bus or come by boat to this beautiful island.

The quickest and most efficient way to reach Corfu is by plane. Corfu International Airport «Ioannis Kapodistrias» is located 3 kilometers south of the city center, in the region of the lagoon of Chalikiopoulos. The airport has regular flights from and to Athens, with a flight duration of about 50 minutes. During summer, there are also charter flights from many European cities, mainly from Germany and England, as well as low-cost flights from European airlines. After arriving at the airport, visitors can easily find a taxi outside to reach their destination.

Travelers who prefer to drive can reach Corfu by car. The distance from Athens to the port of Igoumenitsa is approximately 500 kilometers, and it takes around 6-7 hours to reach there. From there, it takes around 1 hour and 45 minutes to reach Corfu by ship, with daily schedules running from 6 am to 10 pm. The port also offers a connection to the southern part of the island through the Lefkimmi port, which takes less than an hour to reach. For those coming from northern Greece, the Egnatia motorway has significantly shortened the trip, with the journey from Thessaloniki to Igoumenitsa taking only 3 hours and the trip from Ioannina to Igoumenitsa taking just 45 minutes.

The Intercity KTEL of Corfu offers daily schedules from Athens (8 hours till Igoumenitsa) and Thessaloniki (6 hours) with 2-3 trips per day. For those who prefer to arrive by boat, Corfu has several marinas in different locations. The largest and most organized marina is in Gouvia, approximately 7 kilometers north of the city. Visitors can also anchor their boats in the marina of NACC in the city center, or the marina in the picturesque fishing village Benitses, located 10.4 kilometers to the south.
